Mônica Salmaso releases tribute album to Elizeth Cardoso

Singer Mônica Salmaso has released a new album titled ‘Senhora das Canções – Um Tributo a Elizeth’, a tribute to the legendary Elizeth Cardoso. The project originated six years ago through a series of sold-out tribute shows performed with musicians from Casa do Choro, though the momentum was interrupted by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Recorded in a single day in 2025, the studio album aims to capture the feeling of a live performance. Released via the Biscoito Fino label, the 16-track collection features a collaborative effort with several musicians, including Luciana Rabello, Mauricio Carrilho, Paulo Aragão, Aquiles Moraes, Magno Júlio, and Marcus Thadeu. Additional contributions were made by Teco Cardoso and Nailor Proveta.

Salmaso described the album as both a tribute to Cardoso and a meaningful musical encounter with long-time friends and collaborators from the Casa do Choro community.
