Münster court hears case regarding multi-car pursuit and injury

A trial is entering its final stages at the Münster Regional Court involving a 28-year-old defendant accused of participating in a multi-car pursuit in March 2021. According to prosecutors, the incident involved seven vehicles chasing a 32-year-old man near Rheine.

The prosecution alleges that the defendant struck the victim with a car on a field, causing severe injuries, and subsequently left him behind. The victim survived only after an unrelated witness alerted emergency services. The motive for the attack is believed to be related to the victim allegedly threatening the defendant's ex-wife and her sister.

The defendant has denied all charges through his legal counsel. The court is currently reviewing evidence and determining if a verdict will be reached following closing arguments.
