Münster police investigate crimes following Christopher Street Day

Police in Münster are investigating potential state-security-related offenses following the Christopher Street Day (CSD) event, which was attended by approximately 6,000 people. While the assembly was reported to have proceeded peacefully, several incidents occurred on the sidelines.

Authorities are investigating an unidentified individual who reportedly shouted Nazi slogans during the demonstration. Additionally, a 72-year-old man is under investigation for allegedly calling for violence. Police issued bans from the premises to the 72-year-old and two other individuals involved in these incidents.

The investigation follows a history of tension at the event; in 2022, a fatal attack occurred against a man who had intervened during homophobic insults. In that case, the perpetrator was sentenced to five years of juvenile detention.
