The ARD will broadcast the 49th Münster-based ‘Tatort’ episode, titled ‘Narrentanz’, on November 15 at 20:15. This production from Westdeutscher Rundfunk (WDR) marks the first release under new rules where episodes are available in the ARD Mediathek starting the Friday before the Sunday television broadcast. The digital release is scheduled for November 13.
Set within the Westphalian carnival scene, the plot follows investigators Frank Thiel (Axel Prahl) and Professor Karl-Friedrich Boerne (Jan Josef Liefers). The story centers on the death of Martin Herrmann, a carnival group leader who collapses during a rehearsal. An autopsy reveals he was poisoned with atropine, which had been hidden in carnival candies.
The episode was filmed between September 9 and October 10, 2025, in Münster, Cologne, and surrounding areas.
