Mo Abudu launches EbonyLife Place London cultural hub
Media executive Mo Abudu has announced the opening of EbonyLife Place London, a new cultural and entertainment destination in the United Kingdom. The venue, which Abudu acquired and converted in March 2025, is designed to provide a permanent home for African and Black stories through film, food, fashion, music, and art.
The facility includes several specialized spaces: the Amani Auditorium, Afrobeat Restaurant, Fèhìntì Lounge, Maaji Bar, Zuri Retail, and the Living Wall Art Gallery. The project extends a concept previously established by Abudu in Lagos, Nigeria, with the original EbonyLife Place opening in 2019.
In an interview with BBC Africa, Abudu stated that the venue aims to combat underrepresentation and racism by providing a dedicated space to control and share African narratives. While the space is intended to be a safe haven for the community, she noted that it is also designed to invite the rest of the world to experience these cultures. The grand opening is scheduled for October 8, followed by a celebratory weekend from October 9 to October 11.
