Mo Abudu opens African cinema and culture hub in London
Nigerian media mogul Mo Abudu has opened EbonyLife Place London, a new cultural hub dedicated to African cinema and Black culture. Located in the British capital, the center aims to bring stories from Africa and its diaspora to a wider international audience.
The facility features a cinema, a restaurant, and a boutique showcasing designers from Africa and the diaspora. The cinema's programming is designed to highlight Black narratives, including Nollywood productions from Nigeria, international films exploring the Black experience, and major American releases featuring Black talent.
Abudu expressed that the project is the realization of a long-held ambition to provide African stories with a permanent home in London, making the culture more accessible in a major European cultural center without requiring audiences to travel abroad.
