Disney's live-action Moana arrives on streaming

The live-action remake of Disney's Moana has officially debuted on the Disney+ streaming platform. Directed by Thomas Kail, the film follows the story of a young navigator from the island of Motunui who embarks on an ocean voyage to save her community by finding the demigod Maui.

The production features Dwayne Johnson reprising his role as Maui, alongside newcomer Catherine Laga’aia as Moana. The cast also includes John Tui, Frankie Adams, and Rena Owen. While the film follows the essence of the 2016 animated original, its theatrical run saw a box office collection of approximately $323 million against a $250 million budget.

In addition to its streaming release, the film is also being made available on DVD and Blu-ray.
