Mobec waste management facility in Cuenca hit by major fire

A major fire has broken out at the Mobec waste management facility near the Los Palancares industrial estate in Cuenca. The blaze initially started in a nearby stubble field before spreading to materials within the company's installations.

The fire produced a massive column of black smoke that was visible from various points across the city of Cuenca, causing significant concern among local residents. Emergency services have been deployed to the site to work on extinguishing the flames and cooling the area to prevent reignition.

Cuenca Mayor Darío Dolz and the first Vice President of the Government of Castilla-La Mancha, José Luis Martínez Guijarro, visited the scene to supervise the emergency response and monitor the progress of the firefighting efforts.
