Mobile County parents arrested for severe child neglect
Sara Sprinkle, 25, and Gregory Sullivan, 30, have been arrested and charged with three counts of aggravated child abuse in Mobile County, Alabama. The investigation began after the couple brought one of their two-month-old twin boys to USA Children’s and Women’s Hospital, where medical staff reported the infant was severely malnourished.
Upon further investigation, authorities discovered that the second twin and the couple’s one-year-old son were also suffering from neglect. Mobile County District Attorney Keith Blackwood described the situation as one of the most severe examples of abuse witnessed by the office, noting that one of the two-month-old twins was “very close to death.”
All three children have been hospitalized for treatment. Sullivan and Sprinkle are currently being held on a $400,000 bond. If they are granted bail, they are ordered to remain under house arrest and must have no contact with their children or any other children.
