Mobile Driver's License Services and Social Outreach in Indonesia

Various regional police departments in Indonesia are providing mobile driver's license (SIM) extension services. In Jakarta, mobile units are operating in East Jakarta (Duren Sawit) and West Jakarta (Kebon Jeruk) on Sunday, October 25, 2026, specifically for SIM A and SIM C categories. Requirements include an e-KTP photocopy, the original license, and proof of health and psychological tests. Similar mobile services are available in Gianyar, Bali, and scheduled services are provided in Kulonprogo.

In Jakarta, Polda Metro Jaya is also implementing a social recovery strategy in the Kampung Ambon area of Cengkareng, West Jakarta. Following intensive drug enforcement operations in the region, police conducted a social outreach program including free medical services, mass circumcision, and the distribution of 1,000 food packages. Kapolda Metro Jaya Komjen Dadang Hartanto stated that addressing drug issues requires a fundamental approach that touches on the social and economic roots of the community rather than just symptomatic enforcement.
