Mobile gamers prioritize stress relief over entertainment
A June 2026 survey of over 128,000 KashKick mobile gamers indicates that stress relief and relaxation are the primary motivations for playing mobile games, surpassing entertainment and fun. The findings suggest that for many, mobile gaming serves as a coping mechanism for daily stress rather than a mere distraction.
Demographic data from the survey shows that most respondents identify as women, with 60% living in households earning less than $50,000 annually. Additionally, 19% of participants reported being unemployed or seeking work.
Gaming habits often occur during private or transitional moments; 58% of respondents play in bed before sleep, and 40% play in the bathroom. More than half of the surveyed group plays games daily or multiple times a day, with 53% opting for short sessions of 30 minutes or less.
