Mobile health units provide free medical care in rural Ecuador
Mobile health units have provided free medical services to rural communities in the Ecuadorian provinces of Tungurahua and Chimborazo.
In El Quinche, within the Santa Rosa parish, the Patronato Provincial de Tungurahua conducted a medical day serving 50 adults and children. The initiative focused on preventive care, including gynecological campaigns and Pap smear tests for 16 women, as well as deworming programs and the distribution of multivitamins.
In the Chimborazo province, the Patronato Provincial de Chimborazo deployed a mobile health unit to the Sablog Chico community in Guamote. More than 55 residents received free general medicine and dental consultations. The brigade also provided free medication to those in need, aiming to reduce the barriers caused by geographic and economic challenges for rural populations.
