Mobile libraries expand services in Venice and Cagliari

Mobile library services, known as Bibliobus, are expanding their reach and activities in Venice and Cagliari to promote reading and social inclusion.

In Venice, the Rete Biblioteche Venezia reported a 5.5% increase in access during the first half of 2026, with 3,614 visits recorded. The service is introducing new cultural activities, including English-language sessions in collaboration with Wake Forest University, bibliotherapy sessions, and scientific workshops. Plans are also underway to modernize the vehicle's interior to make it more functional and welcoming.

In Cagliari, the municipal Bibliobus will return to various neighborhoods, parks, and markets from November 2 to November 30. The service provides both book consultation and lending opportunities, targeting students, seniors, and families. The tour includes scheduled stops at locations such as Parco Giovanni Paolo II, via Giotto, and the La Palma district, aiming to reach urban areas distant from traditional library services.
