Mobile man accused of killing two relatives with chainsaw

Thomas Steele, 47, is facing murder charges following the deaths of his grandmother, Dora Boone, 85, and his aunt, Christy Deloach, 65, in Mobile, Alabama. Investigators believe the two women were decapitated with a chainsaw inside their home.

According to court documents, Deloach placed a 911 call around 11 a.m. on Monday, expressing concern that Steele, who is bipolar, had stopped taking his Lithium medication and was behaving erratically. Police arrived at the residence at approximately 1:30 p.m. and discovered the victims. Steele was reportedly waiting outside the home when officers arrived.

During a recent court hearing, Steele was removed from the courtroom after making a chilling remark. The case has drawn significant attention due to the nature of the crime and Steele’s demeanor, including a wide smile displayed in his booking photograph.
