Mobile network error risks voice privacy during calls
Experts are warning of a technical vulnerability in mobile networks that could compromise privacy during phone calls. Due to a synchronization error between voice and signaling data channels, a smartphone may transmit audio several seconds before the recipient actually answers the call.
This means that if a user continues to speak with others while waiting for a call to connect, the person on the other end might be able to hear them. This risk is particularly relevant for those who multitask or engage in private conversations while dialing numbers.
