Mobile ordering services expand in Japan's sports and commercial sectors

New mobile ordering and prepayment services are being implemented to improve dining efficiency in high-traffic venues.

In the sports sector, Vegalta Sendai is introducing a mobile pre-order and payment service for its match against Tegevajaro Miyazaki on August 29. This service allows fans to order and pay via smartphone to reduce queues at stadium food stalls. Users can select specific pickup times and use dedicated lanes to collect their items, aiming to enhance the spectator experience.

In the commercial sector, favy has launched a ‘cross-tenant prepayment model’ for its mobile ordering system. This technology allows customers in food halls to browse menus from multiple different vendors and complete a single consolidated payment for various items in one cart. The service has debuted at the Green Dining Hall in Blue Front Shibaura Tower S, designed to reduce checkout congestion and allow groups to order diverse meals from different shops simultaneously.
