Mobile phones catch fire on Rangkasbitung–Tanah Abang Commuter Line
Two mobile phones caught fire inside a passenger's bag on the Rangkasbitung–Tanah Abang Commuter Line at Rawa Buntu Station on Thursday morning. The incident occurred around 06:49 WIB within the women-only section of the train.
Security personnel on the platform noticed smoke emanating from a passenger's bag, prompting the passenger to throw the bag onto the platform. Upon inspection, officials found two mobile phones in a burnt condition inside the bag. One of the devices was reportedly being used as a personal hotspot at the time of the incident.
KAI Commuter Public Relations Manager Leza Arlan stated that staff assisted passengers in exiting the train safely and secured the smoking bag. The incident caused a brief seven-minute delay in the train's schedule.
