Mobile Suit Gundam RG XARX-ZERO anime set for April 2027 release

Bandai Namco Filmworks has announced that the new anime series ‘Mobile Suit Gundam RG XARX-ZERO’ is scheduled to begin television broadcasting in April 2027. The series is part of the ‘RG Project,’ a multimedia initiative that connects the anime with the upcoming action game ‘Gundam Rogue Orbit.’

Directed by Kenji Kamiyama and featuring science fiction setting supervision by Toh Enjoe, the project explores a new post-apocalyptic universe set in the ‘After Apocalypse’ (A.A.) era. The anime serves as a prequel to the game, taking place approximately 100 years before the game's events. The story follows Rei Azumi, a child orphaned by war, as they pilot the Gundam Zero.

The game, ‘Gundam Rogue Orbit,’ is slated for release on March 5, 2027, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam. The anime will be broadcast in Japan and North America, with further regional details to be announced.
