MobileMoney Fintech launches programme to support 600 Ghanaian SMEs
MobileMoney Fintech Ltd (MMFL) announced the nationwide "Wo Nkɔsoɔ" (Your Progress) initiative to provide practical training for 600 micro, small and medium enterprises in Ghana. The programme focuses on financial literacy, digital payments, credit readiness and overall business growth, targeting informal‑sector operators such as women‑led dressmakers, tailors, hairdressers and farmers. In partnership with Universal Merchant Bank, Kola Market and relevant national associations, MMFL will deliver hands‑on sessions on digital banking, fraud prevention, record‑keeping, cash‑flow management, savings habits, and credit and insurance preparation.
The launch took place in Kumasi during the National Conference of the Ghana Dressmakers and Tailors Association. Charles Osei Owusu, Senior Manager for Business Development at MMFL, said, "We engage business owners who have the talent, determination, and customer base to grow, yet many still lack access to the financial tools they need to scale." The initiative will expand to Accra, Takoradi and Tamale later in the year with four trade‑specific training sessions, aiming to strengthen financial inclusion and empower Ghanaian entrepreneurs.
