MobilePay to Shut Down Gift Card Service in Denmark

MobilePay will discontinue its "Send" gift‑card feature on 1 September 2026. Users must redeem or export any stored gift cards before that date, as the function will no longer be accessible in the app. The change affects roughly 4.74 million registered Danish users. The updated user terms, which took effect on 24 June 2026, also introduce new features such as saved receipts, group chat, and a child‑friendly mode for ages 7‑15. MobilePay advises customers to locate their gift‑card balances in the app and either use them or export the data before the deadline. After 1 September, gift‑card access via the app will cease, though the validity of the cards themselves remains governed by the individual merchant’s terms.
