Mobiliar reports significant profit increase in first half of 2026
Mobiliar reported a significant increase in net income for the first half of 2026, reaching CHF 446.7 million compared to CHF 169.9 million in the previous year. The insurer attributed the growth to improved financial results and a reduction in natural catastrophe losses, specifically noting that the previous year's results were weighed down by a rockslide in Blatten.
Gross premium volume rose by 3.6 percent to approximately CHF 3.8 billion. The non-life business segment saw substantial growth, with premium volume increasing to CHF 3.2 billion and net income rising to CHF 345.7 million. The company's financial result also improved significantly, aided by high realized gains from asset sales, such as gold, and favorable foreign currency movements.
CEO Michèle Rodoni stated that the company exceeded the market average in premium growth, strengthening its market position and profitability during its anniversary year. While the life business saw slightly lower premium volume, private pensions recorded strong growth of 4.6 percent.
