Mobimo Holding AG begins Nordbau residential project in Aarau

Mobimo Holding AG has officially laid the foundation stone for the Nordbau project in Aarau, marking the final expansion stage of the Aeschbachquartier. The development involves the conversion and extension of the former Rockwell production building.

Designed by the Aarau-based architectural firm Schneider & Schneider, the project will provide 122 rental apartments of varying sizes, ranging from compact units for individuals to larger spaces for families. The ground floor will also include additional commercial space.

The development aims to integrate the site’s industrial history with contemporary living by preserving parts of the existing structure. This approach is intended to create new housing while significantly reducing embodied energy through the reuse of existing buildings.
