MobLand Season 2 increases tension and character instability
The second season of the Paramount+ crime drama ‘MobLand’ shifts focus toward internal family conflict and increased instability for its central characters. The series explores the widening fracture within the Harrigan criminal family, specifically the tension between Conrad Harrigan, played by Pierce Brosnan, and Kevin, played by Paddy Considine, as issues of succession and authority arise.
Actor Tom Hardy, who portrays Harry Da Souza, noted that the new season deliberately strips his character of his primary advantage: the ability to stay several steps ahead of his enemies through meticulous preparation. Instead, the season places Harry on the back foot, forcing him to react to high-pressure situations with less time to anticipate threats. Showrunner Jez Butterworth has structured the season to be more kinetic, utilizing a formidable threat that was previously established as a looming shadow in the first season.
