A critical update has been released for the mObywatel application to resolve an issue affecting the activation of mDowód, a digital identity document used in Poland. The bug specifically impacted users on Android devices, potentially preventing the digital document from launching correctly.

Administrators have addressed the error in version 4.89.1 of the app. Users experiencing activation failures on Android are advised to install this latest update to restore functionality. No similar issues were reported for the iOS version of the application.

mDowód serves as a full legal identity document in Poland, recognized by banks, government offices, medical facilities, and courts. It functions as a distinct digital document with its own unique series and expiration date, rather than a simple digital image of a physical ID.
