Moca man sentenced to 30 years for killing former partner

A collegiate court in the Espaillat province has sentenced Junior Roberandy Rodríguez to 30 years in prison for the 2024 murder of his former partner, Crisleidy Yanet Rosario, in Moca.

The crime occurred on June 29, 2024, at a farm in the La Isleta community. According to the prosecution, Rodríguez used a knife to inflict four fatal wounds on Rosario after calling her to discuss their shared child. The investigation revealed that the victim had been subjected to domestic abuse and previous threats by the defendant.

In addition to the prison term, which will be served at the La Isleta Correction and Rehabilitation Center, the court ordered Rodríguez to pay 3 million Dominican pesos in compensation to the victim's family. The ruling established violations of several articles of the Penal Code and the Weapons Law.
