Moda Center election faces disputes after partial rejection of Chapa 2

The electoral process for the Moda Center administrative body for the 2026-2028 biennium has faced complications following decisions by the Electoral Commission. While the registration for Chapa 1 – União dos Confeccionistas was fully approved, the registration for Chapa 2 – A Voz dos Condôminos was only partially approved.

The Commission rejected four of the 25 names presented by Chapa 2, citing failure to meet the full compliance requirements regarding condominium obligations as specified in the public notice. The affected individuals include Annaline Cristina Barbosa do Nascimento, José Ivanildo Bezerra, Maria Arila Neves do Bonfim Araujo, and Maria Eliane da Silva.

Douglas Santos, representing Chapa 2, criticized the decision, accusing the current administration of attempting to win through legal maneuvers and create a single-candidate election. He stated that the group intends to file formal appeals within the legal deadline to reverse the rejections. The election is scheduled to take place on September 28.
