Model hopeful Josefine Scholl rebuffed by designer Kilian Kerner

Josefine Scholl, 18, the daughter of former German football star Mehmet Scholl, is pursuing a career as a runway model in the ProSieben documentary series "Born Famous." During a series of castings she was harshly dismissed by designer Kilian Kerner, who told her she would never walk for houses such as Prada or Céline because of her height (1.68 m) and lack of a suitable look. Kerner also criticized her Instagram presence, calling it a copy of copies, and urged her to leverage her father's name for "vitamin B" connections.

Other designers, including Esther Perbandt, also declined to work with her, citing collection fit rather than personal shortcomings. Marcel Ostertag offered a modest endorsement, selecting her for his petite‑model line for Paris Fashion Week and noting her "California‑girl" look. Scholl’s mother, former model Jessica Luther, and her father tried to encourage her, emphasizing that the rejections were not personal. Scholl remains determined to succeed without relying on her famous surname.
