Modem Festival organizers deny involvement in illegal sewage dumping allegations

Residents of Donje Primišlje have reported the illegal dumping of sewage and chemical waste from mobile toilets into forest areas near the site of the Modem Festival. Local investigations identified three locations where large quantities of waste were allegedly discharged, raising concerns about contamination of underground water and local streams.

The festival organizers have denied involvement, stating they do not own waste disposal vehicles and instead contracted the company Teranlux to manage 170 portable toilets. Organizers provided documentation showing a payment of €31,875 to Teranlux for cleaning and maintenance services.

A service provider, Wece, was identified in video footage driving a tanker through forest roads, but the company's director denied any illegal activity, claiming waste is transported to a collector in Karlovac. Authorities, including the police, State Inspectorate, and Croatian Waters, have been notified to investigate the matter.
