Modena economy sees strong cultural and creative sector growth

A study by Dataview and Fondazione Symbola highlights the significant impact of the cultural and creative productive system (SPCC) on the economy of Modena. The sector generates 5.90% of the province's added value, ranking 11th nationally and placing the territory above the Italian average. This represents the best result recorded in the 2021-2025 five-year period.

Employment in the cultural and creative sectors is a particularly strong point, with 6.58% of the provincial workforce operating in these fields, ranking 10th in Italy. However, the number of core businesses—those operating directly within the seven identified cultural domains such as architecture, design, and audiovisual arts—represents only 4.64% of the total registered businesses in the province, ranking 40th nationally.
