Fabrizio Miccoli celebrates football retirement in Palermo

Former Palermo captain Fabrizio Miccoli officially retired from professional football with 'The Last Match – Miccoli Legends Game' held at the Renzo Barbera Stadium. The event drew between 15,000 and 20,000 spectators to celebrate the veteran striker's career.

Miccoli's legends team, which included notable figures such as Filippo Inzaghi, Amauri, Josip Iličić, and Salvatore Sirigu, secured a 6-0 victory against a team of television artists. Miccoli himself scored during the match, and his son, Diego, also found the net.

The evening served a significant charitable purpose, raising approximately 20,000 euros for the Fondazione Falcone. These funds are designated for the construction of a multi-purpose sports field in the Kalsa district of Palermo, the neighborhood where Miccoli grew up.
