Modena honors Luciano Pavarotti with conservatory renaming and musical tributes

The city of Modena is holding a series of tributes to celebrate the 91st anniversary of the birth of legendary tenor Luciano Pavarotti on October 12. As part of the commemorations, the Modena and Carpi Conservatory will be officially renamed in his honor during a ceremony attended by the Minister of University and Research, Anna Maria Bernini, along with local mayors and representatives from the Pavarotti Foundation.

Throughout the day, Pavarotti’s most famous arias will be broadcast in Piazza Grande to create a shared musical experience in the historic center. The celebrations will conclude in the evening at the Pavarotti-Freni Municipal Theater with a concert performed by the Pavarotti Foundation Orchestra. The program will highlight the artistic collaboration between Pavarotti and composer Henry Mancini, featuring young operatic talents supported by the Foundation.
