Italian police appoint new officials in Modena, Siracusa and Trapani

On 23 June, two newly‑trained commissars, Carola Antoci (28, from Ragusa) and Agostino Fernicola (class of 1996, from Catania), began service at the Questura of Modena after completing the 114th training course and earning masters in public‑security management from Luiss Guido Carli. They were welcomed by Questore Lucio Pennella, and Paola Convertino was promoted to Primo Dirigente.

In the province of Trapani, three new commissars—Giovanni Vitrano (29, Palermo), Laura Vivirito (27, Palermo) and Federica Marino (29, Palermo)—joined the Questura after the same course. Questore Egidio Di Giannantonio assigned them to roles in immigration, the Gabinetto and other offices.

Siracusa saw the appointment of Aldo Fusco as questore on 1 July 2026, succeeding retiring Questore Roberto Pellicone. Fusco, a veteran of anti‑mafia investigations and former questore of Oristano and Ascoli Piceno, brings extensive experience in organized‑crime fighting and public‑order management.

Also in Siracusa, vice‑questore Andrea Monaco, previously head of the mobile squad in Ragusa, became the new head of the Squadra mobile, taking over from Annalisa Stefani, who moves to Trento.
