Modena prosecutors seek dismissal of charges in aMo Si deficit case

The Modena Prosecutor's Office has requested the dismissal of charges against Stefano Reggianini, former sole administrator of the mobility agency aMo Si, and Daniele Berselli, its former general manager. The investigation centered on a deficit of approximately 582,000 euros discovered in the agency's accounts in early 2025.

Investigators determined that while Reggianini and Berselli made several cash withdrawals from company accounts and handed the funds to an employee, they acted in good faith. Prosecutors found no evidence of personal gain or criminal intent on their part, suggesting the transactions were part of a casual management practice. The legal proceedings against a former employee, however, will continue as the prosecution seeks to bring her to trial.

Local officials have expressed concern regarding how such a significant deficit went undetected by internal controllers for several years. While criminal charges against the former executives are being dropped, civil responsibilities remain a point of discussion. Reggianini previously reached a settlement with aMo to pay 58,000 euros as part of a civil agreement.
