Moderaterna demand action on Umeå elderly care working conditions

Lotta Holmberg of the Moderate Party has submitted an interpellation to the elderly care board chair in Umeå, seeking answers regarding the working environment and competence levels within the city's elderly care services.

The Moderate Party describes the current situation as unsustainable, citing issues such as difficult scheduling, split shifts, and resource shifts that prevent staff from recovering properly. They argue that these conditions contribute to recruitment challenges and a decline in the proportion of staff with relevant care education.

To address these issues, the party is calling for increased staff influence over scheduling, the abolition of split shifts where possible, and the removal of resource shifts. Additionally, Holmberg emphasized the need for better introduction programs and enhanced opportunities for professional development to ensure high-quality care for the elderly.
