Modern lifestyle factors increase mental and cardiovascular health risks
Medical experts are highlighting the significant impact of modern lifestyle factors on both mental and cardiovascular health. At the 52nd Argentine Congress of Cardiology, specialists discussed how environmental and social factors, collectively referred to as the 'exposome,' contribute to heart attack risks. Beyond traditional factors like high cholesterol and smoking, experts noted that air pollution, noise, and prolonged stress are critical contributors. Fine particulate matter from traffic and industry can trigger inflammatory processes in the blood vessels.
Simultaneously, psychological health is being impacted by the pace of modern life. The constant demand for multitasking and digital stimulation can lead to 'accelerated thought syndrome.' This condition, characterized by an uninterrupted stream of ideas, can cause profound physical and mental exhaustion. Experts warn that when external demands exceed an individual's ability to adapt, it can lead to disrupted sleep, decreased work performance, and emotional instability.
