Moderna to present Phase 3 melanoma vaccine data at ESMO Congress
Moderna is preparing to present late-stage Phase 3 clinical data for its personalized cancer vaccine, Intismeran Autogene, at the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) Congress. The data, which focuses on the treatment of patients with resected Stage IIB-IV melanoma in combination with Merck’s Keytruda, is scheduled for presentation during a Presidential Symposium on October 24.
An interim analysis of the INTerpath-001 study previously indicated that the therapy met its primary endpoint of recurrence-free survival and a key secondary endpoint of distant metastasis-free survival. This development is viewed as a significant validation of Moderna’s mRNA platform as the company seeks to expand its portfolio beyond infectious disease vaccines into oncology.
Following these clinical developments, Moderna’s stock recently reached a 52-week high. While some analysts, such as those at Bernstein, have maintained cautious price targets, others view the Intismeran results as a major milestone for the company’s broader therapeutic capabilities.
