Modest Mouse and My Morning Jacket reveal Neil Young tribute covers

Two new Neil Young tribute albums, titled ‘Heart Of Gold series, Vol. 2 - Out Of The Blue’ and ‘Vol. 3 - Into The Black’, are scheduled for release on November 6. These follow the initial volume released last year.

Modest Mouse and My Morning Jacket have revealed their contributions to the project. Modest Mouse collaborated with the Chicago rock group Califone to cover ‘Barstool Blues’, a track originally recorded by Young in 1975 for his album Zuma. Isaac Brock of Modest Mouse noted that the project supports The Bridge School and described the experience of covering Young as a ‘stressful honor’.

My Morning Jacket has contributed a cover of ‘Like A Hurricane’ to the series.
