Modesto Murillo Gutiérrez to face trial in Honduras

A court in San Pedro Sula, Honduras, has ordered Modesto Murillo Gutiérrez, also known by the aliases ‘Supremo’ and ‘Cortacabezas’, to face an oral and public trial. Murillo is accused of six crimes, including association to commit a crime and the illegal possession of firearms and ammunition.

Authorities allege that Murillo is a member of the ‘Cartel del Diablo’ and played a logistical role in facilitating the acquisition of weapons for the criminal organization. The case has been referred to a Sentencing Tribunal in Tegucigalpa. The defense intends to argue for Murillo's innocence.
