Modha Rathri film receives U/A certificate ahead of release

The Tamil rural comedy film ‘Modha Rathri’, directed by Raja Karuppasamy, has been cleared by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) with a ‘U/A’ certificate. Produced by Mythri Movie Makers, the film is scheduled for a worldwide release on August 21.

The story follows a single night during a village wedding that descends into a series of misunderstandings and unexpected twists. The film marks the debut of actor Rishikanth, who plays Maruthanayagam, alongside Anishma Anilkumar, who portrays Muthuselvi.

Anilkumar expressed that she was drawn to the project due to the emotional depth of her character, noting that the role allows her to explore a woman navigating complex internal feelings and uncertainties during a transitional phase of life. The film features music by Bharath Sankar and cinematography by Surendran Paranjothi.
