Modiano Market reopens in Thessaloniki

The historic Modiano Market in Thessaloniki has officially reopened, presenting a hybrid model that integrates a traditional marketplace with modern gastronomy. Managed by the Ergon group, the renovated site houses 30 businesses, including nine dining establishments such as cafes, bistros, and a small brewery producing local ‘Maya’ beer.

Visitors can access fresh produce from small producers, including fruits, vegetables, and oils, alongside butcheries and fishmongers that offer on-site cooking services. The upper floor is designated for cultural events. The market's recent revitalization follows a major investment by the Fais Group to restore the landmark, which was originally designed by Jewish architect Eli Modiano and constructed starting in 1922.
