CES Unveiled Milan focuses on AI regulation and innovation
The CES Unveiled Milan event, a European preview of the Las Vegas Consumer Electronics Show, has highlighted the critical need for a balance between technological innovation and regulatory frameworks. Fabrizio Kinsey, president of the Consumer Technology Association (CTA), emphasized that while risks associated with artificial intelligence exist, the goal must be to implement the technology safely through intelligent regulation.
Kinsey noted that current global efforts are fragmented, though the European Union is leading with the AI Act. He advocated for regulations that are risk-based, technologically neutral, and capable of protecting privacy and cybersecurity without stifling progress.
Attilio Fontana, President of the Lombardy Region, also addressed the event, noting that hosting such an international summit recognizes Lombardy’s dynamic economic system and its capacity to transform innovative ideas into industrial projects and employment.
