Modica political leaders clash over center-right coalition cooperation

Political tensions have emerged within the center-right coalition in Modica, Italy, following conflicting statements from the local branches of Forza Italia and Fratelli d'Italia.

Giorgio Apriledi, representing Forza Italia, issued a statement expressing strong perplexity regarding claims made by Fratelli d'Italia. Apriledi alleged that despite attempts to initiate dialogue, Fratelli d'Italia city secretary Marco Nanì has avoided direct and substantial confrontation. Forza Italia questioned the transparency of previous claims regarding shared solutions, noting that no formal or informal meetings to present concrete proposals have taken place.

In response, Marco Nanì, the city coordinator for Fratelli d'Italia, stated that the party prefers to focus on concrete work for the city rather than engaging in media polemics. Nanì highlighted several priority areas for the community, including urban security through the ‘Modica Sicura e Viva’ plan, the regeneration of the historic center, and the establishment of a consultative body for productive activities. He maintained that the party's dialogue within the center-right remains open and institutional.
