Modica receives regional funding for cultural and sports infrastructure

The Sicilian Regional Assembly has approved amendments to the regional financial maneuver providing funds for several infrastructure projects in Modica.

Cultural funding is designated for the creation of the San Giorgio Museum and the restoration of the adjacent San Michele Church. The museum, located in a currently abandoned space, will display historical treasures from the San Giorgio Church. The restoration of San Michele Church aims to return the site to its former state as a place of worship and tourism.

Additionally, 190,000 euros have been allocated for the Pietro Scollo Stadium. The funds will be used to install a modern lighting system to improve safety and efficiency for local sports clubs, including Modica Calcio and Frigintini, as well as for local athletics training.
