ModRetro has announced Buddy: The Video Game, a survival horror title developed by playinstinct. The game is based on the film Buddy, which is scheduled for North American theatrical release on August 28th via Roadside Attractions and Saban Films.

Targeted for a Q4 2026 release on the ModRetro Chromatic, the game will be fully compatible with the Game Boy Color. The gameplay is expected to blend survival horror, visual novel storytelling, and various show-themed mini-games. The narrative centers on a seemingly perfect world inhabited by a bright orange unicorn named Buddy that turns unsettling when a child refuses to play along.
