Modus Brewing launches Australia’s first bottled non-alcoholic stout

Modus Brewing has released Australia’s first bottled non-alcoholic dark beer under its NORT label. The new product, NORT Stout, was developed over nine months to replicate the body and mouthfeel typically provided by alcohol.

Co-founder Jaz Wearin noted that the launch addresses a market gap for a premium, Australian-made non-alcoholic stout available in 330ml glass bottles. The stout contains zero sugar and 83 calories, utilizing a blend of dark specialty malts to achieve coffee, cocoa, and roasted flavor profiles.

The move follows research from Endeavour Group indicating that non-alcoholic beer has seen 11 consecutive years of growth, with stout being a highly demanded style.
