Moga Police Station Grenade Attack Leads to Arrest of 13 Suspects

On the morning of 8 July 2024, a hand‑grenade was thrown into the head‑quarter police station in Moga district, Punjab, causing a loud explosion but no fatalities or serious injuries. Rapid police response resulted in the seizure of the weapon and the arrest of all 13 alleged perpetrators within five days. The accused, all residents of nearby Firuzpur, include four women and were charged under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA). They have been remanded for five days for further questioning to uncover the mastermind and any terror links.

The operation was overseen by a special forensic team that collected explosive residue and other evidence at the scene. The case is now pending further legal proceedings in the local court.
