Moga shooting kills two cousins and injures others in Punjab

Two cousins, Sahil Jindal and Gagan Jindal, were killed and several others were injured after unidentified gunmen opened fire in the Angadpura locality of Moga, Punjab. The attack occurred late Sunday night when assailants traveling in a black Scorpio SUV allegedly arrived and fired indiscriminately at a group of people gathered outside their homes.

Eyewitnesses reported that approximately 15 to 20 rounds were fired during the incident. While police have recovered cartridge cases and are reviewing CCTV footage, the exact number of rounds is still being established. Preliminary investigations suggest the shooting may be linked to personal enmity, and police are currently recording statements to identify the suspects.

The incident has drawn sharp criticism from political leaders. Congress leader Sachin Pilot described the event as a reflection of a deepening governance and public safety crisis in the state. Shiromani Akali Dal chief Sukhbir Singh Badal also condemned the Bhagwant Mann-led government, accusing the administration of a breakdown in law and order.
