Mogi das Cruzes launches dental prosthesis program and electric bus
The city of Mogi das Cruzes has launched two new municipal initiatives focused on public health and sustainable transportation.
The municipal government introduced a free dental prosthesis program aimed at vulnerable populations. The first phase of the service began at the Santo Ângelo Basic Health Unit, providing oral treatment and prosthetic fittings to initial patients. The city aims to expand this service to deliver between 400 and 500 units by the end of the year.
In addition to health services, the city has introduced its first electric bus to the public transport system. The zero-emission vehicle will operate on two routes within the Corredor 5 – Leste, covering approximately 24 kilometers and 20.8 kilometers per trip respectively. The bus features a 280-kilometer battery range and an energy regeneration braking system. The operational phase will be monitored by the manufacturer and the concessionaire to evaluate performance.
