Mogi das Cruzes police officials removed over prisoner favoritism allegations

The Public Security Secretariat (SSP) has ordered the immediate removal of a jailer, three delegates, and an investigator from the 1st Police District in Mogi das Cruzes. The measures follow allegations of providing preferential treatment to inmates.

The investigation, part of the Public Prosecutor's Office 'Operation Custodia (In)Fiel', examines irregular privileges granted to detainees during a previous operation aimed at dismantling the presence of the Primeiro Comando da Capital (PCC) criminal organization in the capital's bus sector. Investigators noted an unusual flow of visitors with no family ties to the inmates, alongside other unauthorized privileges.

One of the individuals detained during the related 'Vectura Corrupta' operation was former councilman Milton Leite. While the investigation continues to determine specific responsibilities, the defense for Leite has denied any special treatment was provided.
