The Secretariat of Tourism of Mogi Guaçu began the process to revise the Municipal Tourism Master Plan, a strategic document guiding sector development for the coming years. Consultants Edegar Luis Tomazzoni, a professor at the University of São Paulo, and Lucas Goulart de Andrade, a tourism researcher with a doctorate, will lead the technical work, updating the inventory of attractions, accommodation, food services and infrastructure, and conducting demand research, governance diagnosis and formulation of strategies, programs and projects.
The Municipal Tourism Council (COMTUR) will participate to ensure sector representation. The revised plan is slated for completion and presentation at a public hearing in December. During a meeting at the Association of Municipalities of Tourist Interest of São Paulo (AMITESP), tourism secretary Antônio Henrique Corsi emphasized the partnership with AMITESP officials Waldirene Ricanelo and José Basílio as essential for strengthening public tourism policies.
